The Junior League of Long Island Presents: “Bridal Super Sale”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – September 12, 2020

ROSLYN, NY — The Junior League of Long Island® (JLLI), a non-profit volunteer organization, announces a ‘Bridal Super Sale’ fundraiser on October 16, 17 and 18th. The event will be hosted at their headquarters on Old Northern Boulevard in Roslyn. Thanks to generous in-kind donations from local businesses, the event will be a one-of-a-kind, charitable weekend featuring over 200 designer wedding gowns at extraordinary prices (discounted up to 90% off retail)! Additionally, a selection of Bridesmaid, Mother-of-the-Bride/Groom and Flower Girl dresses will also be available for sale. All event proceeds will support community projects that directly benefit women and children on Long Island.

Similar to many of today’s brides, JLLI had a last-minute change of plans for their big day. A wedding expo was originally scheduled for last April but the volunteers nimbly rearranged and rescheduled the event with everyone’s health and safety in mind. Now a three-day, appointment only experience, the ‘Bridal Super Sale’ remains committed to empowering women to look and feel their best on their “big day”. The event is perfect for brides looking for their dream dress on a budget, a dress for their “mini-mony” or a second look/after party dress.

“We are excited and humbled to offer support for women on this special occasion, especially given the additional stress and strain the current pandemic has caused for so many brides and their families,” says JLLI 2020-2021 President Stephanie Kearns. “Like many of the 2020 brides, we had much bigger plans but had to adjust. In the wake of the pandemic, I challenged the League to meet the needs of our members and our communities in new, innovative and impactful ways.”

JLLI is familiar with retail-based fundraisers. Their eponymous Thrift Shop is the League’s largest, on-going fundraiser. Founded in 1951, the Roslyn store has become a top destination for secondhand shopping. The ‘Bridal Super Sale’ not only celebrates the League’s core values of volunteerism and service, but also highlights the JLLI Thrift Shop’s goal to provide an economic and ecological alternative to shopping on Long Island.
