The Junior League of Long Island Seeks Applicants for its Ninth Signature Project Playground Build

2018 Project Playground Build at The Boys & Girls Club of Bellport

Roslyn, NY, February 3, 2021 – The Junior League of Long Island is seeking applicants for its ninth signature Project Playground build.  The Junior League’s Project Playground is implemented over a two-year period.  The first year is the planning phase focused on site location, community interaction and preparation.  The actual construction of the playground is completed by Junior League members, along with the local community, during the second year of the project.  Some of JLLI’s previous playgrounds have been built at The Patchogue Early Head Start Center, The Hagedorn Little Village School in Seaford, the EOC/Head Start School in Manhasset, the Family Service League in Bay Shore, The Boys & Girls Club of the Bellport Area and most recently at Pal-0-Mine Equestrian in Islandia, NY.

The Project Playground initiative demonstrates what can be accomplished when there is a common focus to make a difference in the lives of children and families on Long Island.  “Project Playground is a very special project that all of our members take great pride in.  It is a chance for us to work together to do something meaningful and long lasting for deserving local children,” said Stephanie Kearns, current President of The Junior League of Long Island.
