THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF LONG ISLAND TO HOST ANNUAL WINTER FUNDRAISER AT THE EXCLUSIVE FOUNDER’S ROOM IN THE PARAMOUNT IN HUNTINGTON, NEW YORK

Roslyn, New York, March 7, 2015 – The Junior League of Long Island (JLLI) www.jlli.org announced its annual Winter Fundraiser – SPEAKEASY 20’s Affair!  This event is open to the public! The Founder’s Room is an exclusive space that is not open to the public, which makes this “Speak Easy” more thrilling!

This annual fundraiser is themed differently every year but the goal remains the same.  This proceeds from this event allows the JLLI to continue its daily efforts in engaging in volunteering and fundraising efforts across Long Island. Some of our main events include our annual education initiative on childhood obesity and nutrition, titled Junior League’s Kids in the Kitchen, Project Playground – one example was the complete design and erection of a playground at The Hagedorn Little Village School in Seaford, New York, Done-in-a-Day projects including working with Momma’s House in Jericho, New York, our Annual First Step Program that focuses on women in low-income communities that we invite to our headquarters in Roslyn, NY and provide them with interview clothing, resume building and interview techniques to part with to help them find living-wage jobs in the work force. The JLLI also contributes to non-profits on Long Island, $10,000/year in community fund donations – since 1951. We also have partnered with the Ronald McDonald House in New Hyde Park, New York as our volunteers have created a Valentine’s Day Luncheon Event for its members and family members.

Some of our contributors this year to our silent auction and raffles are Say La Vie; Cold Spring Harbor, The Wine Shoppe; Cold Spring Harbor, The Paramount, Huntington, Messina Market, La Piele Spa, Papillon Hair, Abby Sheeline Photography, Gold Nails; Huntington, a NYC helicopter ride by The Blainey Family, a round of golf at The Creek Club by the Foster Family, a flat screen TV by Mittleman Brother’s LLC, SB Love Rocks, a car service gift card by the Telese Family, Gourmet Gift Baskets by Book About Food, Lilly Pulitzer, Heather Blond Fashion, Hewlett Packard, The Cleaning Girls, Hunter Mountain Weekend Stay, Red Door Spa to name a few!
