The Junior League of Long Island is overseen and managed by our trained volunteers who hold positions on our Board of Directors.
President Remi Farnan
Remi Farnan has been an active member of the Junior League for the last 5 years after completing her provisional training at the New York Junior League and her first active year serving on the DIAD Committee. Over her tenure with the Junior League of Long Island she has held the positions of House Chair, Restoration Committee Chair, and on the Board of Directors as Treasurer, President-Elect and now President. She has also won the Ibby Byrnes Award for her dedication to the Thrift Shop in the 2020 – 2021 League Year, Volunteer of the Year for her service and guidance in leading the interior renovation of the Thrift Shop for the 2021 – 2022 League Year and most recently awarded for Outstanding Service for the 2022 – 2023 League Year. Her favorite league service project is a tie between Thanksgiving Baskets and the Diaper Drive with Allied Foundation where JLLI gets to gather, assemble and provide deserving families with basic needs. Remi has also been known to drag her parents and sisters to all service projects and events which they all now come to willingly!
In her professional life Remi is a Project Manager at a New York general contractor managing several multi-million-dollar projects for several different clients at once across the New York Metropolitan Area. In December 2021 she completed her Master of Business Administration from Baruch College’s prestigious Zinklin School of Business. Her professional experience has allowed her to help refresh internal operations in each of the positions she’s held for JLLI. In addition to her professional commitments Remi also volunteers with the SUNY Oneonta Alumni Association as a mentor and guest speaker, The Women’s Diversity Network as a Diversity Leader and a committee member for Girl’s Inc on their annual fundraiser Luncheon.
If Remi is not at the Junior League or with her family, you can find her in Long Island’s Wine Country pursuing her passion to become a WSET certified in wine or reading the latest JLLI book club book.
Treasurer Stephanie Radauzzo
Stephanie is a proud stay at home mom of two kids, a 5 year old and a 3 year old. When she is not spending time with her family, she’s an avid reader trying to knock as many books off her list as possible! Stephanie also tutors children a few hours a week to help them further their love for learning. In the previous League Year Stephanie was honored with the First Year Active award with her arrangements co-chair Jessica. Stephanie also has chaired several Done in a Day projects too. Stephanie’s favorite league event is Thanksgiving Baskets. It was the first event she attend in her provisional training and she met some of the members she’s currently good friends with today while serving.
Projects and Research Director Jessica Torraca
Jess Torraca serves as the Director of Projects and Research for the Junior League of Long Island. She joined Junior League in 2021 and hit the ground running. Prior to her board position, Jess served as the Arrangements co-chair, as well as participated as an active member of the Done-In-A-Day (DIAD) committee for the past two years. In June of 2023, she was awarded the 1st Year Active award for her contributions to the league.
Her favorite Junior League projects are Positively Me, a full-day workshop focusing on the mental health and well-being of young girls in their early teen years.
In her professional life, Jess is a Senior Account Executive for a Long Island-based digital marketing agency. With a clientele focused mostly on technology, healthcare and telecom, . She graduated in 2008 from Quinnipiac University with a degree in Public Relations and is a member of the QU alumni chapter of National Panhellenic Conference sorority, Alpha Chi Omega.
Aside from her professional and charitable endeavors, Jess is an avid golfer and music fan. You can often find her at a concert, especially for the following bands: The Eagles, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Dave Matthews Band, Billy Joel, and more. She is also a skilled crocheter (a talent passed down from her grandmother) and often gives out homemade gifts made from the heart.
