Who We Are

Welcome to the Junior League of Long Island’s website!

The Junior League of Long Island (JLLI) is an organization of nearly 200 passionate, driven women working to make a difference on Long Island. We are the local organization of the Junior League international non-profit organization, comprised of more than 150,000 women volunteers across the globe, and founded by social activism pioneer Mary Harriman in 1901.

The Junior League of Long Island seeks to equip members with skills to create positive change in our local communities, to address community challenges, and spearhead projects that benefit women and children. Now more than ever, there is a need for trained volunteers and leaders to work together to build a greater, stronger community.

Something that sets JLLI apart from other non-profits is that we are a training organization. Members serve on working committees where they have hands-on experience leading and managing community projects and programs. We offer regular trainings, as well as personal and professional development opportunities, which will continue in the form of online meetings for at least, the beginning of this League year.

To our supporters, we thank you for all of your support. If you are a community-based organization or someone considering membership, thank you for visiting our site and learning more about who we are. You can email us at info@jlli.org for more information. You can also support our work by making a monetary contribution or by donating new or gently used clothing, shoes or household items to our Thrift Shop. Donations are tax-deductible and directly benefit the Long Island community.

Yours in Service,
